Introducing the MUA (Make Up Artist) of the week Janice Laila Smith!

She is a triple threat not only is she an amazing Make Up Artist she's also a Designer and Hair Stylist.

Janice Laila Smith is a funny, outspoken southern bell who started acting at the age of 14 in her home church in Miami Dade, FL.  From there she went on to study Fashion at Design and Architecture Sr. High School (DASH).  After graduating Janice went to Miami Dade Community College to start her studies in theater and dance.  After two and half years, Janice was signed to to a talent agency where she was booked for extra work, but Janice wanted more.

In 2006 with only $3,000 and two bags, Janice moved to New York to further her acting career and her dreams of becoming a designer.  Janice was the first of three children to move out on her own.  Since then, Janice has made Brooklyn her home and continues to build her resume in acting and design.  Janice is the creator and lead designer of King Daughters Couture (KDC), creator of King Daughters Ministry (non-profit), as well as an actress and Lead Make-up Artist (MUA).  Janice is very thankful for the gifts that God has put in her and for the connections she's made since being in New York.  She hopes in the near future to encourage young women and help them find their talents.  Where she goes from here, one can only imagine.

Besides being the lead designer of her own line, King Daughters Couture, Janice Laila Smith is also an up and coming MUA.  As an actress and print model Janice always did her own hair and makeup.  In 2010, after working with her now photographer D. Madison, her photos were seen by many models who then began requesting her to do their hair and makeup. She took makeup courses at F.I.T. in New York City. Janice has had the opportunity to provide her services for weddings, sweet sixteens, birthdays, Fashion Shows, photo shoots and many other events.   Growing her portfolio with hard work and dedication, Janice hopes to be one of the best and pay it forward through her ministry by teaching the basics to women young and older.  She is well on her way!
